I have been researching my family history since before 1990. I've found ancestors in almost every state in the triangle from Maine to Virginia to Illinois. (And some in Nova Scotia and Wisconsin, but I liked the way this title sounded.) I've found at least three ways that my parents are related (colonial New England...). See A Jewish Genealogy Journey to read about how I've found my husband's ancestors in New York, New Jersey and Ohio, and back to Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, and Galicia, which involves different research, as his immigrant ancestors almost all came through Ellis Island, and none of mine did.
I have connected with distant cousins through my tree on ancestry.com, as well as through this blog, which I think is really cool.
I have completed ProGen 37; I hold a certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University (OL24); and I am a member of the following organizations:
National Genealogical Society (NGS)
New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS)
New York Genealogical and Biographical Society (NYG&BS)
Massachusetts Society of Genealogists (MSOG)
Jewish Genealogical Society of Greater Boston (JGSGB)
Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR)
Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society (WPGS)
Association of Professional Genealogists (APG)
New England Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (NEAPG)
